I'm on it. I am working (in my spare time) on a direct swap pcb module to fit behind the factory steering wheel facia that converts those retarded touch buttons to proper buttons.

I popped the front off the wheel and started cad+trace design of a replacement PCB that will have standard 'click' buttons under the factory touch facia.
I think I have worked out the method of comms, as I want it to be entirely click and play. I connected the car's original PCB (only done the right hand side so far .... I hate those volume buttons) to my test rig and read the output as I operated the buttons.
Just need conversion to make standard buttons output the same data (not difficult)
