I thought this should be on as standard considering the UK website advertises it and it’s not part of any packs? Or am I missing something completely?

If it’s not on, then when I get mine, I’ll request them to turn it on as they advertised it!

The born option packs are very sketchy, or they were when we ordered ours, I couldn’t find any clear lists what any packs contained.

Had a run on the motorway the other day, travel assist works perfectly, resting just one hand on the wheel kept the dreaded warning at bay, other half took a pic of the expanded display.

Also on our pack (L option) we have the park assist but it doesn’t do the memory parking like id3 and other new id’s
Just wondering if the other tech pack that I think has park assist with different options has this feature?

This is very strange to me as all models I believe come front and rear sensors (which I think is what traditionally would be described as park assist) along with a rear camera.

I was under the impression that the intelligent park assist did some form of (semi-)automated parking for you. It would make sense if that option came with extra side sensors that the default options don't have.

It's great news that it seems the Born's steering wheel is capacitive by default, but that makes it extra frustrating that it has all the hardware for travel assist yet there's no pack or option in the UK to enable it. I'm worried about coding a car so new as there's always a chance something goes wrong and they blame your modifications for it and refuse a warranty claim.

@Betty W does your car happen to come with blind spot detection or anything like that with Tech L? There should be a spot on the inside of the mirror case that houses a light if there is.

And out of curiosity does it have parking sensors on the front and rear bumper that basically look like they're pointing to the side?

Yes it has the side sensors, so 12 in total, it can park itself with no intervention from driver, takes over reverse drive and accelerator until it’s parked but on id3 you can activate memory parking but the born doesn’t have this option 😕

I don’t have blind spot detection but don’t think this is needed for memory park assist.

Betty W: I have my E-Boost, and on the drive home, when I stopped for a charge, I enabled TA. I had a few bits ticked on Bytes 6 and 8 already that weren't ticked on my ID3, so I copied over the settings from the ID3 that I gave you. It works, but I still get the intervention prompts, so eiter I don't have a capacitative steering wheel, or overriding the Byte settings already there, i've somehow disabled the capacitative function. I will do it again this morning, with the bits ticked that were already there and the additional ticks, to see if that works better.

Oddly, the TA button on the steering wheel only lights up when the ignition is on, whereas it was lit on the ID3 with all the other buttons as soon as you enter the car.

Have you had interventions since when using TA, confirming that you don't have a capacitative steering wheel, or are you still thinking that you might because you've had no interventions to date?

It's equally possible that Betty W has has a firm grip on the steering wheel that provides enough force feedback to disable the intervention warnings. @Betty W - what's your impression? Are we talking about a light touch with fingertips which would be just enough to trigger a capacitive sensor? Or a proper grip?

There's a real enough possibility that not a single Born has until now been shipped with a capacitive steering wheel - and various sources are suggesting that it'll be months before the first of such Borns equipped with Travel Assist will ship.

Haven’t been anywhere where I could use TA since but will have another look this weekend, the light on ours is the same only lights once the ignition is on, perhaps as said it’s down to the grip on the wheel, but I just loosely rested my hand on bottom of wheel and it didn’t alarm.
Going on a run at the weekend so will have a closer look.
Also I think when your in queuing traffic, stop go TA should work but from memory mine only kicks in at a higher speed.
