Ordered mine on Nov. 11th, and was initially scheduled to be built wk 12, but was later expected to be built this very week (wk 18). Still no words from dealer, so we shall see… Either way, wait is looong for a new car. First F-up was chip shortage, second one was cable harnesses not being able to be delivered.

Yup, and the Q4s are seeming to be pushed back time and time again. Some people on the Q4 forum who ordered last April (2021) still don’t have a build date.

There was reference to an article in the FT where a VW group CEO was making a point about VW, Audi, Porsche and Skoda cars ordered now won’t be delivered until 2023 - no mention of Cupra in the list though…

Just been told my order has been accepted by the factory system and waiting a build schedule. Anyone have any time lines as to how long the process has been taking?
I ordered on 30th March V3 77kWh Aurora Blue with tech pack.

I've heard from multiple places that they're prioritising early Born orders to get some on the road. However, they've apparently sold around 2,500 of them already so my guess is that your order is out of that window now and at the back of the queue so to speak. They still have a backlog of ID.3 orders from October last year onwards to fill after all and they can't make them wait forever.

Read somewhere that the factory at Zwickau is or can (subject to supply chain issues) produce over 5000 cars per week….. here is hoping they have fixed the supply chain issues and we will get our Born’s sooner rather than later

I'd recommend you don't browse the ID.3 forums if you want to keep that optimism!

Shut downs in China mean yet more supply chain problems, on top of the existing semiconductor shortage and Ukraine crisis. I believe we are "lucky" in the UK as Cupra seem to have completely removed options (compared to the existing European variants) that have been subject to supply shortages such as the 360 camera, blind spot monitoring, etc.

If you ordered your car in March from a retailer, I'd say there's a decent chance of getting your car soon-ish because VW seem to have prioritised early retail orders above that massive ID.3 backlog.

Can confirm on this. Ordered on 23rd March and have a build slot in week 21 (WC 23rd May) and should take delivery late June/early July.

Latest Update: "Just to let you know that your car left the factory yesterday and is now working towards the storage compound at the docks in Germany. I will keep and eye on it but hopefully it should be about 3 weeks away."

Three weeks sounds like a long time to cross the north sea, but hey ho... At least it exists! Knowing my luck, after all this the ship will sink.
