No, but it serves me well. It averages out as much as using an average m/kWh or an average mpg.

I used a similar calculation when I was travelling last summer around southern Germany and France, 40km per 10%, I found that easier to quickly work out your range. 4km per 1% would take me a bit longer to work out.

My point was more based towards if you car has a fault and needs to go to the dealer, then other consumption values make it easier to compare to others and determine if the car does indeed have a fault, or it is just another factor like weather etc.
