So it looks like the UK media are getting their hands on the CUPRA Born and the first few reviews are coming out. I'll update the thread as and when I find more:

Auto Car:
Keener drivers might just about see enough in the Born to pick it over rivals at just the right price, but if you could stretch to a Kia EV6 instead, I suspect you would.

For those as attracted to this car for other reasons, however, it should hold a pretty broad-based appeal. It’s not the sort of car that you would expect of a fully independent Cupra brand still setting up shop as a default pick for enthusiasts to be in a hurry to introduce - and, judged as the stand-out alternative to a compact petrol performance car that you might have expected it to be, it actually has most of the same limitations that figure with EVs more widely.

But it’s certainly got more handling dynamism than the average sub-£40,000 EV. In light of where the market is right now, and considering everything else the Born offers, a little bit to get excited about might well prove to be enough.

Auto Express:
When we first drove the Born we felt the pick of the bunch might be the more powerful version, and having driven the middle battery offering here, our opinion hasn’t changed. Cupra has done well in making the Born feel sportier than its VW ID.3 cousin, especially given the limitations of electric powertrains, but we’d be happy to trade some more practicality for additional performance to truly set the Born apart.

What Car?
The Cupra Born takes all the good bits from the class-leading Volkswagen ID.3 and adds a slightly more polished interior and an upgraded infotainment system. If you go for a mid-range V2 58kWh version it’s actually very well priced against an ID.3. The Born should certainly be on your small car shortlist.
