I have ordered my Cupra Born for September delivery, specification as follows:
- V3 58kWh AFV 230 Auto eBoost
- Heat Pump
- Aurora Blue
- 20" Blizzard Alloys
- Granite Grey Dinamica interior and bucket seats
- Tech (L) Pack

I currently have an ID.3 Max Pro 58kWh but the Born exterior design is a major improvement as is the interior and 12" Infotainment screen and it will come with version 3 software. I like my ID.3 and have no complaints about the range and driving

Denmark
Cupra Born High 58 kwh
Order date: 3rd Dec. 2021
Expected delivery: 20th April 2022
Delay announced: 7th Feb. 2022.
Had to downsize from Pilot L package to Pilot M+ in order to avoid further delay until earliest 15th June 2022.
Dealers message this week: Production week 20/2022. Expected delivery: 1st June 2022.
So do not believe less than half a year.
That’s worrying, were you ever given a factory confirmed build slot or an ‘expected date’. AFAIK my slot was showing on the dealer/factory order system as ‘production status confirmed’, so hopefully it’s on a conveyor somewhere right now getting its bits bolted together! :?

Hi

I ordered my Cupra Born on Sunday 24th April. I ordered the V2 in quasar grey as I didn’t think the spec on the V3 justified the price, even though I love the seats on the V3. No idea when it will be built as even the garage didn’t know. Reading others experience on here seems to link in with the dealers rough estimated timeline, although reading on the VW ID.3 forum they are seeing massive delays!

I heard, though I can’t remember where, that the delays to the ID.3 are because the factory is prioritising the Born due to wanting to build a market presence. Could be nonsense though.

I hope that’s true. Although I’d be pretty annoyed if it was true and I’d got an ID.3 on order. I just checked my order form and it says estimated delivery date is 13 February 2023!!

That’s a long wait. On a test drive about 10 days ago they were suggesting about 6 months for delivery. That doesn’t look likely based on your experience

Unless they have put this as a worst case scenario to cover themselves. Leeds Cupra said about 6 months but Huddersfield Cupra where I ordered from said anywhere between 6 to 11 months. A long wait either way I guess.

Just had another update from Leeds Cupra to say that my car is 'in production' and is expected to leave the factory next week. :D

That’s great news KEV1L! Please keep updating on your order progress.

I’m one month behind you on the order date, so fingers crossed the same applies to my delivery date. I’m being very optimistic to expect that though. My experience of Cupra Leeds and their communication wasn’t great, otherwise I could have ordered sooner.

It certainly looks like they are prioritising these Borns over the ID.3. Some people over on the ID.3 forums who ordered back in October/November time are saying they either don't have any estimate or have an estimate that's over 6 months out, whereas it looks like UK orders done around March time are possibly being built in the next month or two.
