Re: B or D?

I'm the opposite. I drive in B mode most of the time. I only use the brake pedal to come to a complete stop. Right from the get-go I worked out what I needed to do to have smooth deceleration in an appropriate distance. It's all about situational awareness and not being in a particular hurry to get ...

Re: A/C Consumption

I'm in Australia and have been using my A/C pretty much all the time since I picked the car up in August. There have been times when I don't use it and comparing economy, when doing the same trip, it looks like 3% extra use while the A/C is running is par for the course.

Cupra Born Driver Modes - Effect on Range

I'm fine with how the driving modes can be changed but I'll be blowed if they make any significant difference to the range I get. The "Cupra" and "Range" modes give me almost identical economy figures. I know that is pretty hard to set up accurate testing methodology but I drive ...

Re: Check your Born VIN for recalls!

My guess on the pin striker is that it can let the bonnet fly up into the windscreen. I’ve seen that happen to a completely different car coming the other way. It was pretty much instantaneous. I was so concerned for the driver I stopped the car and turned around to help him. It had smashed his win...

Re: Rear Parking Sensors Unavailable/Impact Warnings

The amount of 'Tech' that I have ended up turning off on this car because it sucks is ridiculous. App, internet, lane assist, Led colour = drive mode, dipping mirrors. auto dip headlights, sat/nav etc The sat/nav needs updating I think. The other day, the route it planned for me was 14 miles longer...

Re: V2 E-boost initial impressions

I've had my Born for 1.5 months now, so I can add some first impressions. As a precursor, in case others aren't aware of it, in Australia the Born only comes with one battery pack size - the 77kW. The only options available are an interior pack, which has electric front seats with a different materi...

Rear Parking Sensors Unavailable/Impact Warnings

Hi all Ever since I've had my vehicle it will occasionally warn "An impact was detected" when I start the vehicle, even though no such impact has occurred. Yesterday, I got a warning "Rear Parking Sensors Unavailable" and a couple of yellow lights on the dash. I can't help but th...

...furthermore, i just wanted a car , not a tech toy. Your phrase "failure to proceed "? I spent about 40 minutes around Cirencester on sunday looking for a charge point to get me home. The forum has been handy in sharing this most fundamental kind of issue with EVs and helping me acquire...

Re: Drop in range

I'm only a couple of weeks in and have noticed a drop in range, but I know why. I am driving faster now that I'm used to the car. I'm driving more like I did when I had an ICE vehicle because I have confidence that I will be able to charge the vehicle when I need to. To start with I was being overly...

Re: The Thing About Vehicle Forums

14,000 miles here and not too much to complain about. Still very happy with the car, so if they'd just stop breaking the API back-end, I'll be a happy camper. Here in Australia we don't get any connected services at all. In fact, of the VW Group vehicles only the Audi has this available here. Accor...
