Hot Weather and Radio/Sensor function.
On Friday, the hottest day of the year so far, I jumped in the car and it was reading 29C outside temp. Seconds after moving off, I had a string of 4 sensor malfunction/failure messages/bongs on the infotainment and the radio output itself was like a CB radio - very crackly and not very clear. Reset...

Re: Brake Fluid Change
Up until a few years ago, common VAG stance on brake fluid was to change initially at 3 years, then every 2 years thereafter. Unless you have a leak in the system, brake fluid shouldn't be absorbing moisture to lower its boiling point/introduce water vapour in use for 4 or 5 years. From an environme...

Re: Servicing
Service done and I mentioned the blobby projections on the puddle lights so they replaced those under warranty. While I was waiting at my local dealership (Sunderland Pulman) for the service to be done, Twickenham dealership called (where I got our white Born from, which was sold for my S3, we kept ...

Re: Puddle / mirror down lights extra marks in Cupra logo
Ours were replaced under warranty at 2 year service - common issue confirmed by Pulman Sunderland, they keep plenty of stock for anticipated need to replace.

Re: Servicing
Anyone had their Born serviced lately, and if so what were they charged? Ours is approaching 2 years old and we've been quoted £175 from Cupra Pulman at Sunderland. That doesn't include the pollen filter. They also said brake fluid and aircon services were optional extras, I would not be taking the...

Re: Is the issued charging cable under warranty?
Should do, unless it has any physically evident signs of misuse/accidental damage.

Re: Cupra Breakdown Cover - how long?
2 years for Cupra cars, 3 years for Audis and 1 year for Skodas and VWs (except Touareg - 3 years), which reminds me, our Born is approaching 2 years old!

Re: BMW 130i to Born
Hi I think the heatpump has been demonstrated ro be pointless. This is a heavy car so it doesn't handle like a 1-series. So pure acceleration is not a good measure. The touchscreen is much less friendly than the 1 series joystick thingy. That's the biggest downside in doing long trips (over 150 mil...

Re: BMW 130i to Born
I think the heatpump has been demonstrated ro be pointless. By whom? Many tests by YouTubers which showed that even in really cold temperatures it hardly made a difference, certainly not worth the 1K cost. Here's one example (it's the ID.3 but the Born would be identical): https://www.youtube.com/w...
